On Friday, the Renault-Nissan Alliance said it expects to roll out electric cars (and charging infrastructure) as part of a pilot project in central China’s Wuhan by 2011. That would put the F3DM well below GM’s $40,000 Chevy Volt and competitive with Honda’s 2010 Insight, expected to have a base price of just under $20,000.

Hyundai will in months offer 2 models that will leap frog toyota and honda by years - it will be based on a lithium POLYMER battery thats lighter, cheaper, and maintains charge many times longer than NiCad batteries and all at a price half that of Volt.

GM will leapfrog Toyota and Honda by providing an electric car to the masses by the end of next year. Honda has probably sold more Civics in a year than the combined total of all 18 of those GM models. If the EV1 was viable (or even close) we would see Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc all with 80 mile cars right now.do you see that?
