Now, the Sharjah Public Transport Corporation has taken the decision to introduce gas powered taxi and bus fleets. Now it is going to convert all 5,065 taxis to run on natural gas by the end of the year - since last year Dubai has been replacing its existing taxi fleets with eco-friendly cars that run on hybrid engines.

Selected projects, by size of award, are: State of Wisconsin’s Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program. The project will deploy 502 alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles through 119 public and private fleets throughout the state. Greater New Haven Clean Cities Coalition, Inc.’s Total DOE award: $14,997,240.

Cenex will deliver the trials in partnership with Newcastle-based consultancy Future Transport Systems and Newcastle University’s Transport Operations Research Group (TORG). The trail of the cars was announced in September at the National Low Carbon Vehicle Event by Cenex and Regional Development Agency One North East.
