The three-point, 400-volt plug, which will allow electric cars to be recharged anywhere in a matter of minutes , will be unveiled Monday at the world’s biggest industrial technology fair in Hanover, northern Germany. At the time of the press release, I could not find a definitive picture. Sorry for any confusion.

Electric car supporters are rising to defend General Motors’ development of the Chevy Volt after the Obama Administration’s automotive task force proclaimed that the car was probably too expensive to be commercially successful in the near future. is hoping to launch the Volt in late 2010 with a price tag of about $40,000. and Chrysler.

General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. See Chevy Volt for latest. Now Lutz envisions selling hundreds of thousands of Volts a year, probably priced below $30,000. I want to stick around to see the Volt come to market.

The vision is fuelled by the fear of climate change and the need to find green alternatives to dirty coal, unpopular nuclear power and unreliable gas imports from Russia. It’s the only way to save the planet from climate change. Close down all the car companies. Close down all the companies making weapons.
