And the sixth model from Polestar – effectively an EV spin-off of Volvo – will not be cheap. The 6 will launch as a limited-edition model known as the LA Concept edition, in reference to its original launch in Los Angeles. The Polestar 6 brings the O2 concept to reality … but not until 2026.

Supplying to Volvo Trucks or Daimler Trucks or whoever is more burdensome. If you don’t build something like that, people can’t refer to it. Iron phosphate batteries are great because they’re durable, they’re cheap. Rustam Kocher: I’ve really been impressed with Volvo Trucks. It’s easier to sell to the light-duty market.

Volvo Bus also started delivering a couple hundred BEV buses, headlined by a huge order from Gothenburg. For reference, in Europe, whose overall bus fleet size seems 2-3x smaller than China’s, somewhere around 2-2.5k And two months into 2021 it has already scored another 57k sales! E-buses were deployed.
