But even as a hybrid the Niro doesn’t come particularly cheap. inch infotainment screen, although the addition of satellite-navigation means it drops the wireless smartphone connectivity, with users instead having to plug in if they want to use Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. And while our older GV60 didn’t yet have the feature, from May this year it introduced Face Connect for “true keyless convenience.” Not what we’ve come to expect from dedicated EV-platform cars.

This range-topping Kia EV9 GT-Line’s RRP is $121,000, then adds quite ridiculous $18,000 (in Queensland) on-road charges, pushing the bill to $139,000 drive-away. A mid-spec EV9 Earth is around $120,000 in the traffic, while the entry-level Air is a comparatively cheap $107,000. For you NSW lot, it’s $140,200.
