The mpg ratings are for city/highway/combined. RWD we drove 225 miles through Southern California, averaging 24 mpg. But in a 110-mile all-freeway run with the adaptive cruise control set to 65 mph, and using Stop and Go , we achieved 29.3 Road Test: 2015 Infiniti Q50. RWD 21/31/24. AWD 20/29/23. RWD 18/27/21.

Competing in the premium midsize SUV category, the 2021 Cadillac XT5 is right in the middle of stiff competition, including models from Acura, Audi, BMW, Genesis, Infiniti, Land Rover, Lexus, Lincoln, Maserati, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Tesla and Volvo. We were surprised to cross the 30 mpg mark for this 3,915-pound, five-passenger midsize SUV.

Power, but not enough efficiency to hit 30 mpg. The EPA fuel economy numbers of 21 mpg city/26 highway/23 combined are almost exactly what we got covering 301 miles driving through Southern California. We were hoping to get 30 mpg on the highway, but no matter how hard we tried the best we could do was 28.1 Convenience.

Running on unleaded premium, the EPA has rated the fuel economy at 19 mpg city/25 highway/21 combined. Where we did much better was on a 102-mile freeway run in either Eco or Smart mode and with the adaptive cruise control set at 65 mph, we achieved 27.5 Flash Drive: 2019 Infiniti QX50.
