On Monday, the US EPA issued a second notice of violation (NOV) of the Clean Air Act (CAA) to Volkswagen AG, Audi AG and Volkswagen Group of America, Inc., EPA also issued the NOV to Porsche AG and Porsche Cars North America (PCNA). Until this notice, all of our information was that the Porsche Cayenne Diesel is fully compliant.

The complaint alleges that nearly 600,000 diesel engine vehicles had illegal defeat devices installed that impair their emission control systems and cause emissions to exceed EPA’s standards, resulting in harmful air pollution.

Audi will revise , document in detail, and resubmit for US approval certain parameters of the engine-management software used in the US version of the V6 TDI 3 liter diesel engine. One of the AECDs relates to the temperature conditioning of the exhaust‑gas cleaning system. The three brands Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen are affected.

The NOV covers approximately 10,000 diesel passenger cars already sold in the United States since MY 2014.
