Or secondly, will some buyers that are considering a non-Tesla EV now choose to buy a Tesla instead because the models may now be more evenly priced.

There were several issues with the original car that I could have saved loads of time on (especially the transmission) by asking other (non-EV) 914 experts. It also provides an excellent place to buy and sell needed parts far more cheaply than other online sources. The cost of the kit is roughly equivalent to eight years of gasoline.
