This started with a leased Fiat 500e used as my wife’s commuter car (she’s a registered nurse with a 10-mile commute each way). Needless to say, we’re very familiar with cars that plug in and have been for a very long time. It looks like we’ve about halved the cost of driving by switching to plugs from pumps.

This hobby will cost you far more than any amount of money you will save in gasoline when driving it around. The cost of the kit is roughly equivalent to eight years of gasoline. I purchased the kit as a no-gasoline commuter car solution. The phrase "There's a fine line between a hobby and insanity" comes to mind.

Considering the cost of batteries, these are disposable cars. Glad to see the variety & availability of electic commuter cars (vs hybrids & PHEV) is rising. Hybrids are just car makers attempt to hang onto ICE & also sell expensive high margin vehicles.
