Before the demo vehicle—a DAF CF 340 front loader with a Millennium XXL 40 body from Terberg HS—could be used to collect commercial waste, a conversion from standard diesel propulsion to hydrogen was required. Almost the entire original powertrain—engine, fuel tanks and exhaust system—was removed from the DAF truck.

Scania has sold 85 ethanol-powered articulated buses to Busslink, operator of bus services for Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL), the regional public transport company in the Swedish capital. ABB to charge the largest single network of 101 electric buses in Europe using open industry standard OppCharge

ABB has received an order for a further 12 bus charging systems from Volvo Buses to power the largest single network. The order will include installation sites in Charleroi, Belgium, providing 15 ABB charging stations in total by 2018, to power 101 Volvo electric hybrid buses in the Wallonia public transport system, operated by TEC Group.
