Finally, in the fall, we announced the rebrand of Blue Corner into Blink Charging Belgium. In a wave of announcements, legacy automakers including Ford, General Motors, BMW, and Nissan announced their intention to use the NACS connector in future EVs.

Umicore is actively working with cell manufacturers to advance SSB tech, and recently opened a material prototyping center in Belgium that supports all the steps in SSB production, from formulation to testing. Based on our precious metals recycling, we pioneered industrial-scale battery recycling in 2011 in Belgium.

That clears the first hurdle to qualify Kia’s electric three-row utility for the $7,500 federal purchase incentive (details on battery minerals and assembly are yet to be revealed). Audi, BMW, Genesis, Lexus and Mercedes-Benz only offer electric SUVs in larger and much pricier segments.

The reveals of the Canoo pickup and Kia EV6 have heads turning and yet another automaker, BMW-owned Mini this time announced plans that it would only produce battery-electric vehicles from 2030. BMW CEO Officer Oliver Zipse is set to announce the plan alongside its annual report on March 17, the person said.
