None of the new electric cars are planning to use old-tech lead acid batteries. In most conversions cost is about the same because of needless weight. April 10, 2009 11:21 am Link Kaare- Lithium Ion batteries do not contain lead (unless it is in solder connections) and do not contain acid. Lead batts are around 98% recycled.
