Golf carts aren’t just for golfers anymore. In fact, they’re getting much more use away from the golfing green as an alternative to cars in neighborhoods all over the US. Now Kandi America’s new collapsible mini golf cart is trying to reframe the concept of low-impact urban transportation.

I’m not sure if you could really call it a legit SUV, but these fun-looking little Chinese electric vehicles might just be an interesting alternative to the car bloat clogging the streets of cities around the world. But hey, tiny electric SUVs aren’t exactly growing on trees around here, either. But safety isn’t your only problem.

The two-seater vehicle features a rather large battery, at least by LSV standards. The 8 kWh LiFePO 4 battery for the European model is rated for up to 60 miles (100 km) of range, but the company announced that the US model will receive an even higher range of 90 miles (145 km), presumably meaning the vehicle will feature a larger battery.

After a succession of carefully staged events for media and the public, we now know that the 2022 GMC Hummer EV will include at least two models: a sport utility truck (or SUT), with four doors and a short pickup bed, and a more conventional SUV. Before Tesla, they were seen as nerdy golf carts, far from usable as “real cars.”

However, they also feature a connected mobile command unit, an adjustable ride height and built-in quick-charge batteries with a charging capacity of 100 to 150 kilowatts. This vehicle relies on two lithium-ion battery packs and can even act as a mobile power source during power outages and natural disasters.

The MiEV runs on a lithium-ion battery pack that can be charged in seven or so hours on a 240-volt line. with battery suppliers A123Systems and EnerDel Inc. The modular, front-wheel-drive battery electric car has dent-resistant polymer-plastic body panels mounted on an aluminum frame and a steel chassis.
