Construction giant Skanska is piloting an electric compaction roller (a piece of heavy equipment analogous to what a previous generation called a “steamroller”) on its Los Angeles Purple (D Line) Extension Transit Project. In February, Skanska completed a 90-day pilot program using the Volvo EC230 Electric excavator.

Volvo Car USA and Starbucks are partnering to establish the first public electric vehicle charging network at numerous U.S. The charging stations, powered by ChargePoint, will be installed at up to 15 stores along a 1,350-miles corridor from Seattle to Denver.
