CTE) has completed and delivered two hydrogen-powered utility vehicles to the US Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency ( DLA ). Initial testing has demonstrated the hydrogen views have a range of more than 300 miles, representing an increase by almost a factor of 10 compared to standard electric cart vehicles.

Students were encouraged to explore a variety of solutions including hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, electric, and extended range electric vehicles. University students from The Ohio State University earned top honors at the 2009 finals of the EcoCAR : The NeXt Challenge competition in Toronto, Canada for their design of a Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV).
