Rivian to build new $5 billion electric vehicle factory in Georgia. Rivian an Amazon-backed electric vehicle maker has announced a new $5 billion electric vehicle factory in Atlanta, Georgia. It will be the second factory in Georgia. The electric automaker will start its production at the new plant in 2024. launch in late 2020.

Hyundai announced its fast-tracking production at its Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia.

Hyundai revealed the new IONIQ 5 refresh earlier this month, which includes several design upgrades, a bigger battery (with more range), and an added rear wiper. In Korea, Hyundai added about 7 kWh of battery to the new IONIQ 5, bringing the total to 84 kWh. Hyundai’s first three-row electric SUV was also recently spotted testing.
