Not packing of battery cell, not extended range engine, not suspension, not sensor, not chips, not software, not motor, and not electric control system, Li Auto does not make any of the critical parts in house. The chasis of Li One was literally a copycat of Toyota Highlander.

The Kentucky-made three-row Toyota electric SUV that the automaker has been underscoring is on the way has taken on an intriguing twist with new info: that it’s reportedly a Toyota Highlander EV. The plug-in series hybrids would have used dramatically downsized engines—a turbo-2 for the EQS—while halving the EV battery pack.

The 2025 Rivian R1S SUV and R1T pickup will be offered in Dual-, Tri-, and Quad-Motor layouts, with Standard (LFP), Large, and Max battery packs. That’s what Toyota has introduced with its 2025 Crown Signia , and at around $45,000 it’s a comfortable, more carlike family alternative to the boxier Highlander Hybrid.
