Smith Electric Vehicles to open manufacturing facility in Chicago

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Smith Electric Vehicles announced that Smith will open an electric vehicle manufacturing facility in Chicago. Chicago will be Smith’s third location in the United States, joining the headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., and a manufacturing facility in New York City.

US DOE Awards $300 Million in Clean Cities Grants to Support Alternative Fuels, Vehicles, and Infrastructure Development

Daimler creates subsidiary for innovative mobility services; targeting €100M revenue within next 24 months

car2go is available in six cities in Germany, and has more than 100,000 customers there—the largest number of registered users in the country’s segment for flexible carsharing services, according to Daimler. The number of available car2go vehicles will also increase from 6,100 to more than 10,000 by the end of 2013.
