NHTSA details the modeling and the projections in the “Preliminary Regulatory Impact Analysis”, and the NHTSA/EPA “Draft Joint Technical Support Document”. Similar to other start-stop technologies, additional enablers, such as electric power steering, accessory drive components, and auxiliary oil pump, might be required.
