Consumers will soon be able to purchase electric vehicles with 200 miles of range for less than $40,000, almost half the price of the long range EVs available today. But the Chinese company will cede its lead in 2019 when European and American carmakers gain ground. BYD will lose PHEV lead in 2019.

In the recently concluded first phase of the fleet test, the cars were driven roughly 150,000 kilometers (93,000 miles). Methanol which is produced with CRI’s method is one of the most environmentally friendly liquid fuels available today. CRI’s current plant has a renewable methanol production capacity of 4,000 metric ton/year.

BYD , for examples, says their 60 mile range-extended vehicle can add 30 miles of range in ten minutes. Most charge points available today take much longer to re-energize batteries than it does to fill a gas-powered cars tank. Install 3 miles of charging lane with about the same frequency as Rest Stops.
