Ive found it facinating how car commercials changed the main MPG number they promoted before gas went over $4 a gallon as city miles. It was a Manufacturing Failure, as GM NEVER planned to build the car in Volume, so No Economies of Scale were ever achieved. Going from 12MPG to 15.8MPG saves more gas than going from 50MPG to 500MPG.
