The principle of continuous improvement will remain at the heart of the strategy to reduce CO 2 emissions and increase resource efficiency. The aim is to significantly reduce CO 2 emissions per vehicle by at least one third across the entire spectrum. CO 2 emissions will then be less than 10% of what they were in 2006.

In 1975, General Ernesto Geisel, then-president of Brazil, ordered the country’s gasoline supply mixed with 10% ethanol. The level was raised to 25% over the next five years, which was intended to maintain a constant Brazilian gasoline supply for an ever-increasing demand.

The auto manufacturers have sued to stop progress before. We’ve seen this all before.
