Limited (CATL) has begun construction of its first lithium-ion battery factory in Thuringia, a state in east-central Germany. The six partners in the “H2 Mobility” initiative ( earlier post )—Air Liquide, Daimler, Linde, OMV, Shell and Total—have signed an agreement in principle upon a specific action plan for the construction of a Germany-wide hydrogen refueling network for fuel cell powered electric vehicles.

The German Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) and several industrial companies signed a joint Letter of Intent to expand the network of hydrogen filling stations in Germany from 15 to 50. The standards developed by the partnership will now be used to successfully introduce hydrogen as a fuel in Germany.
