The Toyota Prius was once reviled by most enthusiasts and often the butt of jokes, even in pop culture. The 2023 Toyota Prius changes the narrative without sacrificing the core mission. I’ve driven many a Prius over the years, and the 2023 version is the first one I’d even think about owning for any reason other than fuel mileage.

GM unveils the US production version of the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze compact sedan at the LA Auto Show on 2 December. The Cruze will compete with vehicles such as Toyota Corolla; Honda Civic; Ford Focus; Hyundai Elantra; and Nissan Sentra. Electric power steering is standard. Standard on LS models is an Ecotec 1.8L

Ford unveiled the North American 2011 Ford Fiesta at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Fiesta—available in four- and five-door bodystyles—will offer North American buyers a new choice of 15 class-exclusive technologies and projected highway fuel economy of 40 mpg, besting the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa and Toyota Yaris and Corolla.

The LED lighting and chromed exhaust ports give the whole package an upscale look that makes the price tag look like a bargain. And this doesn’t address the segment leaders, the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.

On 11 August, GM invited approximately 75 journalists and auto analysts to spend a day learning about the new GM. Consumer Reports rates the Buick Enclave higher than vehicles from Toyota, Volvo, Infiniti, Audi, BMW and Mercedes Benz in the Luxury- Full Size SUV category. It also offers better fuel economy than the M5.
