GM will build the Cadillac ELR, a luxury coupe featuring extended-range electric technology, at the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly, General Motors North America President Mark Reuss said Tuesday. The ELR is the production version of Cadillac’s Converj, a concept vehicle revealed at the North American International Auto Show in 2009.
The 2014 Cadillac ELR extended-range electric luxury coupe, based on the Converj concept ( earlier post ), will make its world debut 15 January at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant will build the Cadillac ELR. Earlier post.).
The extendedrange electric vehicle, introduced as a concept at the Detroitauto show in January 2009, was said to be slated for production ( earlier post ). GreenCarReports cites an unnamed source at GM who says that the Cadillac Converj luxury plug-in coupe ( earlier post ) is now back in the GM product plan.
