Raven SR waste-to-hydrogen plant in California to be powered by INNIO Jenbacher’s Ready-for-H2 engines

Raven SR plans to use INNIO’s Jenbacher engines [60 Hz] with a “Ready for H2” option to produce renewable energy. At the site, landfill gas (LFG) will be the primary fuel to provide power for the non-combustion process that converts waste to hydrogen. The type 4 engines are already available today to run on 100% hydrogen.

HyMethShip seeks to fuel ship engines with hydrogen from methanol

The EU-funded HyMethShip project developed a system that innovatively combined a membrane reactor, a CO 2 capture system, a storage system for CO 2 and methanol as well as a hydrogen-fueled combustion engine to power ships. The bottom part shows how hydrogen for the engine is obtained from methanol in the reactor (blue arrow).

BMW investing €400M in new vehicle assembly at Munich plant as part of shift to electromobility; engine production being concentrated at Steyr and Hams Hall

The new assembly in Munich will be built on the site currently used for engine production. The combustion engines with four, six, eight and 12 cylinders produced there will be manufactured at the company’s locations in Steyr in Austria and Hams Hall in the UK going forward. The new location will produce the latest generation of the BMW TwinPower Turbo three and four-cylinder gasoline engines and forms part of the BBA production network based in Shenyang in Northeastern China.
