Porsche secures third straight FIA WEC Manufacturers’ World Championship title with the 919 Hybrid

Porsche has earned a third consecutive Manufacturers’ World Championship title with the 919 Hybrid. The Porsche 919 Hybrid has netted six world championships, three outright Le Mans wins, a total of 17 race wins including seven double victories, 19 pole positions and twelve fastest race laps from 33 races. Not only that, the Dauphine's engine boasted water cooling, which added complexity compared to the 1930s-technology Beetle but made it possible to have a heater that worked (the Beetle's nearly-useless heater involved a heat exchanger on the exhaust, with associated danger of carbon monoxide in the passenger compartment).
