Audi Motorsport unveiled the R18 e-tron quattro: the first LMP1 car to combine a highly-efficient TDI diesel engine with a hybrid system. Marking the first victory of a hybrid vehicle at Le Mans, the Audi R18 e-tron quattro ( earlier post ), equipped with Williams Hybrid Power’s (WHP) electromechanical hybrid flywheel system, took the top two spots at the 80 th running of the endurance race over the weeken. Following on the heels of the introduction of the second-generation A5 in June ( earlier post ), Audi has now introduced the new A5 and S5 Sportback coupé models. In a new departure, the A5 Sportback is also available as a bivalent g-tron, which customers can run on either Audi e-gas ( earlier post ), natural gas or gasoline.

Audi has unveiled the new-generation Audi A4 and A4 Avant, developed with a high priority on the reduction of CO 2 emissions. TFSI based on Miller cycle, introduced by Audi earlier this year at the Vienna Motor Symposium. All engines comply with the Euro 6 emission limits, so that the TDI has been labeled a clean diesel.

We are starting with optimizing our conventional drive trains—the TDI diesel engines, the TSI engines, the DSG transmission, all of those technologies have helped us to lower our fuel consumption a lot. At the end we dip it 20 times into water; we heat it before and then dip it into cold water. Bottom right. Currently, the e-up!
