The Ford Motor Company Fund and the Georgia Institute of Technology are partnering on the US’ first conversion of a traditional school bus to a hydraulic hybrid vehicle that runs on recycled biofuel. Atlanta Public Schools (APS) donated the bus for the project.

The winning project proposals (by award amount) are: Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority, Georgia: $10,800,000. Material is being financed and procured through the New York Power Authority. Of that, $26.5 billion already has been obligated to fund more than 8,500 approved projects in 55 US States and Territories.
