The US Advanced Battery Consortium LLC (USABC) has awarded Cobasys, a subsidiary of SB LiMotive, an $8.4-million million contract to develop high-energy lithium-ion batteries for use in electric vehicle applications. SB LiMotive has its global foothold in all three major economic regions of the world: Asia, Europe and the Americas.

A new study sponsored by Indiana University concludes that President Obama’s vision of one million plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) on US roads by 2015 will require concentrated efforts action from all stakeholders— the auto industry, federal government, the scientific community, and consumers—to be realized.
