UT Arlington project for Navy investigating how batteries age when run at high rates

A University of Texas at Arlington engineering researcher is working to determine how oversized a battery has to be while operating safely and efficiently during its lifetime of use by the US Navy. A $288,000 ONR DURIP grant, along with Dr. Jain, to buy equipment that enhances the quality of the thermal characterization of batteries.
