Illinois Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law to increase the speed limit from 65 to 70 mph (105 to 113 km/h) on rural four-lane highways, and to lower the limit by five mph for excessive speeding. Tesla Motors unveiled the first locations in its Supercharger network, which will allow the Model S to travel long distances with ultra fast charging throughout California, parts of Nevada and Arizona. Tesla will also begin installing Superchargers in Europe and Asia in the second half of 2013.

In Utah the posted limit is 80 mph and for many drivers that was only a suggestion. We set the cruise control to 72 mph when on the freeway. In our case it was as, traveling through four states, California, Nevada, Arizona and Utah, having the extended battery made the trip worry-free.

Lucid set-up a mini drag strip, where after some expert instruction on how to use the launch control, we did 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and hit 88 mph before lifting.
