Too bad for America our corporations long ago outsourced that kind of effort and heart. Everyone’s all excited that Ford just turned a profit, but they’re doing it with a fleet of uninspired crappy cars that they practically have to give away. When’s your affordable EV that gets 1oo mile range on a quick charge Ford?

But now change has come to America, the people are more than ready, and the cars are here. He’s one of the co-founder’s of Plug-In America and he’s also Zan’s husband. Another of my favorite people on the Southern California environmental scene is State Senator Fran Pavley who also spoke at the press conference.

The morning session started out with an hour long press conference, the highlight being the unveiling of the Volt’s 230 mpg preliminary EPA city fuel economy finding ( earlier post ), as well as a tour showing selected elements from the studios of the four GM North American brands: Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. Here’s what the brainiacs at General Motors sent the premier EV car conference on the West Coast. But what did surprise this reporter was the absence of Honda, Toyota, BYD, and a lot of the other players listed on the Plug-In America car tracker. Their chargers were all over the exhibit floor charging every EV there.
