WinGD and CMB.TECH co-develop large ammonia-fueled two-stroke engines for bulkers

Swiss marine power company WinGD and Belgian shipping and cleantech group CMB.TECH have signed an agreement on the development of ammonia-fueled two-stroke engines. The companies aim to install the ammonia dual-fuel X72DF engine on a series of ten x 210,000 DWT bulk carriers to be built at a Chinese shipyard in 2025 and 2026.

China Merchants Heavy Industry orders methanol dual-fuel engines for new Pure Car and Truck Carrier segment

The order represents a number of firsts, including the first order globally for the S60ME-LGIM variant, the first methanol-fueled engine for a PCTC, and the first Chinese-built methanol engine. The engines will feature MAN Energy Solutions’ proprietary EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) system.
