Alternative Fuels Cars Gas-Electric Minivan

Twenty-three percent of US car owners say that their interest in purchasing a hybrid vehicle has increased from a year ago, according to a new Harris Poll. Other alternative fuels are further down the list, as just one in ten say they would consider diesel (11%) or all electric (9%) automobiles for their next purchase.

The agency’s reasoning was that since alternative fuel vehicle production has generally been less than 0.1% of total vehicle production until very recently, the impact of excluding alternative fuel vehicles was negligible. Two-thirds of owners surveyed said they expect their next vehicle to get better fuel mileage than the one they’re driving now, and fuel economy topped the list as the most important consideration when shopping for their next car, followed by quality and safety.

The Korean car company will remind you it is not a minivan but an MPV or Multi-Purpose Vehicle. With those words it hopes to remove the stigma of people saying “I will never own a minivan.”.
