The process is certified by SGS Germany according to the ISCC Plus system, based on standard ISCC EU methodology for calculation of GHG emission in the product lifecycle. In the same year, national standards for M85 and M100 were also promulgated. Most recently, methanol-fueled prototypes are being tested in 3 provinces of China.

The Model T and Model A Fords were later designed to operate on either alcohol or gasoline or a blend of alcohol and gasoline. During the early 1900s, a distillery was a standard piece of farm equipment. These distilleries made 192-proof alcohol for human consumption, lantern fuel and transportation fuel.
