High Marks for Hyundai’s First Hybrid SUV. Hyundai’s first-ever hybrid SUV, the all-new 2022 Tucson Hybrid, delivers great fuel economy and seats five while hauling all their stuff, too. Whatever it is, during our week driving the Tucson Hybrid through Southern California, it drew plenty of attention and comments.

Clean Fleet Report can’t reveal any of the Kona Electric drive attributes just yet, but we can give a look at what will be available on this competitively priced, efficient small SUV.

The NEXO is Hyundai’s flagship vehicle and improves upon the Tucson FCEV. The NEXO Blue model has an estimated driving range of 380 miles, 115 more than its predecessor. The NEXO Limited trim has an estimated range of 354 miles. The 2019 Kona Electric offers 258 miles of range.

In August 2014, Hyundai’s ix35 fuel cell model was driven a record distance for a hydrogen-powered production car on a single tank, covering 435 miles across three Scandinavian countries.
