I got to see this a lot, since during our test week I took two 170-mile round trips to visit my family (in my COVID-19 bubble). kWh battery, tucked away under the car along the center tunnel, provides just 18 miles of all-electric motoring. I averaged 25 mpg over 364 miles of mostly freeway driving. Moving towards more juice.

Given its range, and the rapidly growing free Supercharger network, the Tesla Model S works well for virtually everyone who can afford one. Automakers continue to only offer sub-100 mile range vehicles. Plug-in vehicle sales are indeed increasing, with the LEAF and Volt each selling about 2500 units in June 2013.

I have also seen people advertising EVs on eBay who claim 100 mile range from a one hour charge using a standard 110V outlet. The basic equation governing the charging of batteries is W = V * A, or to put it into words, Watts equals Volts times Amps. Some industrial sites are even set up with 440V 3 phase service.
