Electrify America has released its National Zero Emissions Vehicle (ZEV) Investment Plan for Cycle 2; Cycle 2 is a 30-month investment period that begins in July 2019. Electrify America also will continue to invest in these Cycle 1 metros: Boston, Chicago, Denver, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Portland, Seattle and Washington, DC.

Where it used to be Hertz or Avis–or a taxi–the choices now are much more complex. Uber’s value proposition is that it is cheaper than using a taxi and much cheaper than using a personal car. The company rebranded as Share Now in fall 2019 as BMW’s Reach Now was shut down and folded in with Car2go.

Arizona-based startup Local Motors has unveiled Olli ( earlier post ), a 12-passenger minibus that may hit university campuses in Las Vegas and Miami later this year. Otherwise, smaller driverless vehicles (including taxis, rideshare services and private cars) could potentially eliminate the need for public transit.
