Cummins and Peterbilt to team up on SuperTruck II

Cummins will partner with Peterbilt Motors Company, a division of PACCAR to develop and demonstrate technologies under the US Department of Energy (DOE) SuperTruck II program. Cummins and Peterbilt teamed together for SuperTruck I, first demonstrating more than 50% BTE and analytically defining technologies needed to achieve 55% BTE.

Peloton in ARPA-E NEXTCAR project to cut HD truck fuel use by 20% with smart powertrains and platooning

The Purdue-led NEXTCAR project team also includes Cummins, Peterbilt Motors Company, ZF TRW, the University of Arizona and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). Our first truck platooning system is coming to market in 2017. Peloton and its NEXTCAR partners expect to launch the three-year project in March 2017.

Calif. Energy Commission to award more than $44M for hydrogen refueling and alternative fuel vehicle projects

These awards were made through the Commission’s Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program, created by Assembly Bill 118. Studies suggest that 68 stations are needed by 2017 to support the market. will receive $3 million to build a 100% renewable hydrogen fueling station in Chino (San Bernardino County).
