Chrysler unveiled the all-new 2017 Pacifica minivan in both conventional and plug-in hybrid versions at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The PHEV is the minivan segment’s first. The Pacifica Hybrid will deliver an estimated all-electric range of 30 miles from a 16-kWh lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery.

In 2017, VW displayed a retro electric van concept with a retro style, harkening back to the iconic T2 Transporter or micro bus. Buzz on a 7,500 km (4,660-mile) road rally through nine European countries in 16 days as part of the Baltic Sea Circle Rally. Like any concept, there was speculation whether it’d actually get produced.

Clean Fleet Report was driving the highly optioned Limited, which had the standard solar panel roof that charges the 12-volt and hybrid batteries, producing two miles of electric driving range for every six hours the car is left in the sun. The strip appears to be chrome during the day, but lights-up at night.

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler is refreshed, building upon the JL platform introduced in 2017 to much fanfare. Surely this is a feature that won’t trickle down to the minivan. Is it still the one?
