ARB will hold a one-day workshop to discuss ARB staff’s preliminary thoughts and sources of information upon which to base the proposed standards and test procedures on 18 May, 2010, in El Monte, California. This is the second technical workshop for the LEV III rulemaking. The workshop will be webcast. EDAG, 2009.

On 22 February, CARB is holding a public workshop to disclose its plans for developing the Clean Miles Standard. At this workshop, staff will provide information on SB 1014; update stakeholders on the process for developing baseline emissions for the current TNC operators in California; and provide information on the regulatory process.

The California Air Resources Board released a new draft of California’s Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Strategy to significantly reduce the near-term climate impacts of these potent pollutants. Methane is the most abundant of the short-lived climate pollutants in California.

The California ZEV program supports three broad statewide policy goals: reduce criteria pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions; reduce gasoline and diesel fuel demand; and maintain leadership in environmental technology policy and foster job growth. An overview of the current science of climate change in the draft includes an expanded discussion of short-lived climate pollutants such as methane and black carbon. per year from 2017–2025. It would provide important air quality benefits on a global scale and help to avoid increasing black carbon deposits in the Arctic.
