One of his purchases occurred on July 30th, where Brooks initiated a wire transfer to Tesla in the amount of $60,407 for the purchase of a 2018 Tesla Model 3. The DOJ affidavit indicates that Brooks was, in fact, the purchaser of the vehicle. Brooks also purchase 38 other used cars, the DOJ said.

The 40 hybrid vehicles, 18 marked and 22 unmarked, will be used in patrol precincts and other units in all five boroughs. While the Altima hybrids are the first alternate fuel vehicles to be used as regular police cars, the NYPD already uses hybrid vehicles in its parking enforcement fleet as well as electric scooters.
