The updated trucks, which were originally purchased in September 2015, deliver up to four times the fuel economy of a gasoline-powered vehicle, UPS said. The trucks will be deployed in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Nevada, Ohio and Texas later this year. The small ICE could be outfitted for gasoline, propane, or CNG.

The Hyundai Motor Group has made a $10 billion investment to build and sell electric vehicles in North America; the first is the 2023 Electrified GV70 built at the new manufacturing facility in Montgomery, Alabama.

Transitioning the fleet to all electric will eliminate emissions from diesel buses and emissions from shipping diesel fuel by barge 900 miles from Seattle. Alabama A&M University. Alabama A&M University’s Bulldog Transit System will receive funding to purchase electric buses, charging stations, and other associated equipment.
