At the Chicago Auto Show, Hyundai announced new direct injection technology for its Lambda V6 engine, as well as the availability of a new 5.0L direct injection Tau V8 for the 2012 Genesis 5.0 The addition of gasoline direct injection (GDI) technology to the Genesis 3.8-liter liter V8 (17 mpg city/26 mpg highway).

2012 Veloster. Hyundai introduced its Veloster three-door coupe in a world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The 2012 Veloster features a new 1.6-liter liter direct-injected four-cylinder engine mated to Hyundai’s first dual-clutch transmission and is estimated to deliver up to 40 mpg highway.

Hyundai Motor Company has completed development of its next-generation hydrogen fuel cell vehicle—the Tucson ix Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV)—and will begin testing next year with an eye toward 2015 mass production.
