October saw Sweden’s plugin electric vehicle share reach 59.4% of the auto market, up from 50.1% year on year. Full electrics alone took 35.5% share, from 22.9% Overall auto volume was 22,383 units, 12% up YoY, though still some 25% down on pre-2020 seasonal norms.

Europe’s largest auto market, Germany, saw plugin electric vehicles take 28.5% market share in August 2022, their best result YTD, though only marginally up on August 2021’s 27.6%. Overall auto volumes were 199,183 units, fractionally up YOY, but dramatically down by some 37% from the 2018-2019 seasonal average of 315,000 units.

Sweden’s plugin electric vehicle share recovered in September, gaining 55.2% Plugin hybrids fell slightly year on year. of the auto market, from 53.9% a year ago. Full electrics saw 35.3% share, their 2nd highest ever from last December. Overall auto volumes were down 3% YoY, and some 21% down from pre-2020 seasonal norms.
