RUF Automobile GmbH unveiled the Stormster, an electric SUV based on the Porsche Cayenne, for the European Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, (COP 15). The top speed is 150 km/h, being able to reach a range of 200 km at one charge. RUF introduced the first electric sports car (eRUF) from Germany in October 2008.

Following the market launch of Bosch parallel full-hybrid technology ( earlier post ) in the Porsche Cayenne S and Volkswagen Touareg hybrids, the company is increasingly investing in the development of powertrain technologies for all-electric vehicles. BMW is the first customer of the joint venture, which was set up in 2008.
