The company had an exceptionally strong month with hybrid sales which leapt by 323 per cent year on year to 5,353 units. per cent compared to July 2008 although it was the company’s highest volume month so far this year.

The cash for clunkers campaign has given a massive boost to hybrid sales in the US, with a reported leap by 48.6 Honda: The company sold a total of 4,943 hybrids during the month with 4,226 of these units being the new Honda Insight. The Civic Hybrid meanwhile sold 717 units, down 77 per cent compared to August 2008.
