Fuel cell technology is also being used to power transit buses and forklifts, and to produce electricity for industrial uses. California is a proponent of diversifying the fuels used to power transportation. Examples of these will be showcased at some of the tour’s stops.

Existing law exempts certain clean, alternative-fuel vehicles from these occupancy requirements, so that a vehicle with a sole occupant may use an HOV lane—if the vehicle displays a Clean Air Vehicle sticker. Yellow HOV stickers (expired). Green HOV stickers.
