Chevy Volt Powermat. GM Ventures, the company’s venture capital subsidiary headed by Jon Lauckner, who helped create the Volt concept, will invest $5 million in Powermat to accelerate the technology’s development and support efforts to grow Powermat’s business globally. We first developed the Volt concept car in 2006.

The morning session started out with an hour long press conference, the highlight being the unveiling of the Volt’s 230 mpg preliminary EPA city fuel economy finding ( earlier post ), as well as a tour showing selected elements from the studios of the four GM North American brands: Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Cadillac. General Motors Chevy Volt series PHEV, which it calls "extended range electric vehicle" (EREV), part of "E-Flex" multi-fuel platform. See Chevy Volt for latest. Now Lutz envisions selling hundreds of thousands of Volts a year, probably priced below $30,000. I want to stick around to see the Volt come to market.
